The president of the Nigeria Football Federation, Amaju Melvin Pinnick was in Abeokuta on 29th of December, 2020 to lay the foundation stone to mark commence of the Ogun State Football Association House.
The event which took place after the conclusion of the NFF 2020 Annual General Assembly in the city of Abeokuta saw the Nigeria football supremo set the first set of blocks at the site which is located within the MKO Abiola Gateway Stadium in Abeokuta.
In his remarks after the history-making event, Amaju Pinnick said the NFF will assist the FA to ensure the delivery of the football within the shortest possible period and explain how the building will enhance football development in Nigeria.
“It’s not just discovering players, this will bring football to the grassroots and enable them to have proper analysis and data of all players and it help have access to the FIFA connect programs” Amaju told Journalists present at the event.
The Ogun State Football Association is one of the six State Football Association chosen by the NFF for the construction of a football house which will also serve as the secretariat for the running of the football in the state.
The NFF President was accompanied by the some of the NFF members which include the Secretary-General, Mohammed Sanusi, the Ogun State FA Mr Majekodunmi, the chairperson of the NWFL Mrs Aisha Falode of which the board later pay a courtesy visit to the State House where they met with the State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun.
